About Us

Hello from Ernie & Rebecca, Orange County family & wedding photographers at 2Hearts Photo. Thank you for considering us for your precious wedding and family portrait photographs. We prepared this short bio to help you decide if you will be comfortable working with us as we capture timeless images of you and your loved ones.

We limit our wedding and portrait photography to situations that match our passion which are weddings and family portrait photography. It allows us to meet a wide range of interesting people and loving families, while capturing their special moments and memories.

Wedding photography is a burgeoning business infused with young, innovative photographers. We feed on that youthful energy but also bring a sense of maturity and a focus on reliability. We employ a professional demeanor to all of our wedding photography family portrait sessions. You are dealing with a reliable and experienced couple that has worked well together building a business and a loving family. We use the very best in photographic gear – refer to Ernie’s Gear Head List for details.

Both Rebecca and I have thoroughly enjoyed portrait & wedding photography for decades. I also enjoy landscape and sports photography as my primary hobby. We have included examples of my landscape and sports photography as well as our most recent wedding photography & family portrait work. We invite you to review these.

We will develop a complete understanding of your wishes before we take a single wedding or family portrait photo. We will ask what kind of wedding photographs you prefer (traditional, photojournalistic, etc.)? What mood would you like for your family portrait (playful, classic, dramatic, etc.)? How will you display the wedding and portrait photographs? Here is a brief summary of our photographic approach and relevant history.

Rebecca and I met in 1996 and have successfully melded two families. We have been married since August 26, 2000 and are blessed with the love and support of our children and grandkids. Our families are our first passion and live locally in Orange County and the surrounding area.

During wedding ceremonies both Rebecca and I photograph to ensure your cherished moments will be captured from multiple angles and vantage points. Having a second wedding photographer ensures no fleeting moment is missed and allows us to capture images (including bridal preparations) that a single (male) wedding photographer would miss. Rebecca and I do not accept multiple weddings per weekend – no other wedding will have our attention. You can rely on us to be fully prepared to capture timeless wedding photographs of you and your loved ones.

During portrait photography sessions Rebecca works with couples and families to help them relax and enjoy the short photo shoot. Her work allows me to roam and capture portraits of everyone in comfortable, relaxed and spontaneous moments. We work together seamlessly to ensure a fun session for everyone, including your children. Putting people at ease is very important and no one is better at it than Rebecca. To help you prepare for your session we have put together a guide – Tips to Ensure a Successful Portrait Session.

We focus on environmental family portraits. There is a wonderful community of studio photographers in Orange County and the Southern California area but we much prefer to capture families having fun in their own environment or at a special vacation location. There are many spectacular vacation sites in Orange County, San Diego and neighboring communities. If you are on vacation in Orange County or San Diego we would love to show you our favorite spots. There is no need for vacation-spoiling consultations before the shoot. We will review your wishes over the phone and make all the arrangements necessary to capture timeless images of your family portrait/vacation. We prepare an online photo gallery for you to review your favorite portraits and select photographs for print. (Don’t forget to share these with the grandparents!!!). For more information on our family portraiture and tips on how to prepare please refer to Tips to Ensure a Successful Portrait Session. I’ve also put together a resource to help with your own family vacation photos: Ten Tips to Better Photographs.
